If you’ve used Power Query in Excel, then you’ll find it simple moving to Power BI. In this in-depth course, you will see how this self-service business intelligence (BI) solution enables you to create impressive charts and graphs that generate business insight and fuel decision making. Upon completion of this course, you will know how to use Power Query for organizing and cleaning your data. As you proceed into building a data model and relating separate tables, you will be well on your way to combining and analyzing millions of rows of data. You’ll further build on your Power BI skills by creating reports and sharing them as interactive dashboards via Power BI Online.

Objectives

  • Import CSV and Excel files into Power BI Desktop
  • Use merge queries to fetch data from other queries, And prevent some queries from loading to the model
  • Use DAX and explore COUTROWS, CALCULATE, and SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR functions
  • Use the card visual to create summary information and other visuals such as clustered column charts, maps, and trend graphs
  • Use slicers to filter your reports
  • Use conditional formatting to highlight key information
  • Edit the interactions between your visualizations and filter at visualization, page, and report level
